2008 Jaguar X-Type Road Test Ratings

Classic Jaguar styling does not translate well to the exterior although interior design is pleasant and functional.

Acceleration is merely adequate. Handling, steering and braking are average for the class.

The bucket-seats are not the best for comfort. Interior space is a bit tight as well.

The control layout is a bit more modern than the S-type. Many of the controls are logical and well placed, but an over-use of buttons still persists.

The interior is eye-pleasing, but not striking. Traditional Jag sedan styling doesn't translate well to this scale.
